Russia imposes three-month restriction on petrochemical exports
New measures do not apply to EAEU countries

The Russian government has introduced a temporary three-month ban on the export of certain types of petrochemical products outside the Eurasian Economic Union. The measure aims to protect the domestic market and ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to Russian industrial enterprises.
The restrictions apply to coal and petroleum benzene, toluene, orthoxylene, paraxylene, and phenol. These components serve as basic raw materials for the production of paint and varnish coatings in mechanical engineering (automotive, aviation, and shipbuilding industries), food packaging, flooring, cable insulation, and pharmaceutical products.
The ban does not affect international transit shipments, humanitarian aid, or the supply of Russian organizations operating in the Svalbard archipelago.
