In an address to the citizens of the country, Tokayev called energy supply a condition for the competitiveness of states and economic sovereignty. According to him, the sector experiences an annual deficit, and there is a shortage of professional personnel, despite frequent forums and discussions.
The President also reported disruptions in energy projects. He stated that the previously initiated construction of a thermal power plant in Balkhash had failed, and the commissioning of generating capacities in Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Almaty, and Ekibastuz is currently being disrupted.
