Shares of Chinese CXMT Fall by Over 6%
Investors Overlook Chipmaker's Return to Profitability
For the January–September 2026 period, the company expects revenue of approximately 265–270 billion yuan. During the same period, Chinese memory chip manufacturer CXMT anticipates a net profit attributable to shareholders of 131–132.5 billion yuan. This marks a transition from a net loss in the previous year to profitability.
The company attributes the improvement to a rapid surge in demand for computing power for artificial intelligence starting in the second half of 2025. This has supported the global DRAM memory chip market, where a supply shortage has emerged and prices have risen significantly.
CXMT is also strengthening its position in the global memory chip market and competing with Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology.
