Owner of Beeline Uzbekistan receives approval to acquire Perfectum with several conditions
The Committee prohibited compelling subscribers to use VEON’s digital services and obstructing their switch to other mobile operators
Preliminary approval has been granted for the purchase of 100% of the shares of Rubicon Wireless Communication JSC, which provides mobile services under the Perfectum brand.
The deal is being conducted by VEON UZB Holding Ltd., registered in the UAE. It also owns 100% of the shares in Unitel, operating in Uzbekistan under the Beeline brand.
For no less than three years, Perfectum must retain its independence, and the 5G Standalone network must be developed in other regions of Uzbekistan. For existing subscribers, 5G FWA tariffs cannot be changed for 12 months; the average speed must not fall below 300 Mbit/s.
Additionally, the conditions prohibit unjustified deterioration of service, using subscriber data to restrict competition, or transferring such data to foreign servers in violation of the law. The parties to the transaction are obligated to comply with the Law 'On Competition'.
