President Launches New Investment Projects Worth $6 Billion in Kashkadarya Region
These are industrial, agricultural, energy, and tourism initiatives, some of which are still under construction
In the Kashkadarya region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the launch of projects and the start of construction on facilities. A total of 161 projects have been prepared: 69 are already completed, and construction is beginning on another 92.
A new factory by the Italian company Cotonella is designed to produce 8.5 million knitwear items annually. Several more textile initiatives will be implemented in the region's districts.
Wosune Food Ingredients Karshi, established with the participation of American partners, will process fruit and vegetable products and supply international brands Nestlé and Purina. Investors from Egypt and Pakistan are starting projects in livestock farming and potato cultivation.
Hydroelectric power stations have been commissioned in Aksu; construction of small hydropower plants has begun in other districts. By the end of the year, a joint venture with Shanghai SUS is planned to launch near Karshi, which will generate electricity from waste. In the Kitab district, an Azerbaijani project for gold mining will commence. In the Shakhrisabz district, a tourist complex featuring a cable car, hotel, and ski resort is planned.
