Supermarkets in Pakistan to Open 'Made in Uzbekistan' Sections
These sections will feature dried fruits, nuts, agricultural products, sweets, and halal meat products.
The Al-Fatah retail chain, which includes 35 outlets and 11 additional franchised stores, is considering the creation of sections dedicated to Uzbek products. This was discussed by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev and the chain’s CEO Muhammad Anis.
Pilot sections are proposed to be opened in stores in Lahore and Islamabad, with plans to expand the range and number of outlets if sufficient demand is observed. The parties also discussed packaging products at Uzbek enterprises under the Al-Fatah brand and direct supplies of finished goods from manufacturers with export potential.
Additionally, the meeting participants considered trial sales of Uzbek sausages and other processed meat products. Their launch is possible provided that import, sanitary requirements, and halal certification rules are met.
