By the end of 2026, 22% of the entire railway construction in Kyrgyzstan along the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan route is expected to be completed. This was announced by Ulan Kulov, Deputy General Director of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan Railway Company JSC.
The official launch of the railway is scheduled for 2031. However, contractors expect to complete construction a year earlier, in 2030. In mountainous sections, soil changes occur during tunnel excavation, along with collapses and the emergence of groundwater.
The future railway will transport both cargo and passengers.
